JOHN "JL" LANDRY

Founder/Actor/Writer/ Producer

John ‘JL’ Landry is a creative enthusiast with the heart to share impactful stories whether he is on stage or behind the scenes. The actor, writer, and now producer, utilizes his training from elite schools and organizations such as Next Actor Studio, A+ Actors, Austin & Houston Workshops, Page Parkes School, and Jonna Johnson, the accredited Chubbuck Technique Coach through his endeavors in writing stories like "THE HEDGE…An Immersive Theatrical Experience!”, "Between Two Thieves", "Tetelestai" and more. From directing and starring in shows whether theatrical or film with companies such as HBO, Little Pictures Productions, and Fade 2 Black (just to name a few) John ‘JL’ Landry has become a household name.

LEA M. JONES

Director

LEA JONES is a graduate of Texas Southern University with a BS degree in Environmental Health, Associate degree in Nursing from Houston Community, and attended Houston Community College film School. She has been involved with the Christian theater circuit since 1998 as a writer and director. Theater Directing credits include “Dazed and Stunned” written by Renee Nixon (Fade to Black Summer Series 2019), “micro” by Larissa Brewington (Fade to Black Summer Series 2023), and Co-Director of Fade to Black’s “The Flow” 2023. Film Directing Credits includes Circadian Rhythm (Finalist at Gulf Coast Film and Video Festival 2015) and 1st AD for “Lion Killer” winner of Austin Revolution Film Festival Texas Feature 2019. Producing Credits includes Dreamland Murders; winner of (6) Awards for Best of Film and Silver REMI Award at the 2015 World Fest Houston Film Festival, and “We’re All Made of Stars”; Platinum Remi at the World Fest Houston Film Festival, “The Ring”; nominated for Five 168Film Project Awards including Best Picture, and “Liberators”- A New Musical; selected into the 2018 Chicago Musical Theatre Festival in February 2018. Lea also serves as a board member and Secretary for
Fade to Black.

TREY MORGAN LEWIS

Assistant Director

Trey Morgan Lewis is a proud Houstonian with a strong presence in the Houston Theatre Community, where he has dedicated over ten years of his life. Throughout his journey in the community, Trey has taken on various roles, from being a founding executive director to serving as an usher. However, his deepest passion lies in the art of performing on stage.

Currently, Trey Morgan holds the esteemed position of Head Theatre Director at Ross Shaw Sterling Aviation Early College, which proudly houses the renowned Ross Shaw Sterling Players Troupe# 10941. He follows in the footsteps of the great directors who have come before him, such as Yvonne Phillips Dupree and Evette Masson-Furguson.

Trey's theatrical career boasts an impressive array of notable performance credits. Audiences have witnessed his exceptional talent in productions such as "Sister Act" and "The Wiz" at TUTS (Theatre Under The Stars), "Godspell" at MVE (Moore Vision Entertainment), "Dog Act" at Main Street Theater, "Passing Strange" at BTC (Bayou Theatre Company/The Sankofa Collective), and "The Color Purple" at Carver Theatre. He has worked with great artists such as Tony Award Nominated Director Robert O'Hara, Tony Award Winning Educator Roshunda Jones-Koumba, Theatre Under the Stars Artistic Director Dan Knechtges, the late R&B and Broadway Legend Mrs. Marva Hicks, and many other phenomenal artists.

With every performance, Trey Morgan Lewis strives to bring captivating stories to life on stage. He appreciates and values the support given to The Arts, recognizing its importance in enriching society.

FAITH FOSSETT

Musical Director

FAITH FOSSETT  is overjoyed to be a part of this inspiring new work. MD credits (selected): Fade to Black- THE FLOW 2023; Passing Strange, Saucy Jack and the Space Vixens (Obsidian Theater); The Rocky Horror Show (Barn Arts Collective); The Last 5 Years (NWU); Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, Hansel and Gretel (Quintessence Theatre Group). Film Scoring credits (selected): Feartown, USA; The Slashening. She has composed music and/or collaborated musically with such companies as 4th Wall Theatre Co., Esurient  Arts, Rice Players, and Nebraska Shakespeare Festival. She has coached and shared her love of
the performing arts with a variety of age groups including Little Maestros, in NYC, and
Humphreys School of Musical Theatre. She self-produced and music directed the world
premiere of her original electro-pop musical PULSATE: A Vampire Musical in 2019, at Houston’s Prohibition Theatre. Other projects include her one woman show, My Sacred Prairie Cherry. She is grateful for the encouragement of her husband, Alan, the patience of their 2-year-old, Wolfie, and the ever-growing community support for individuals who balance parenthood and creativity.

CARRAE LANES

Stage Manager

Carrae Lanes was born and raised in Houston, Texas. She started her education in Theatre Arts at 18 years old at the University of Texas at Austin. She moved back home to her Houston roots, where she worked as assistant stage manager for August Wilson’s, The Piano Lesson. She also performed in Scriptwriters 10x10 as Clarice in Carl Williams’, Taking a Second Look. She made her first directorial debut for the play, Saving Tonya by Bob Inger, and was granted the opportunity as assistant stage manager in Scriptwriters 10x10. She also directed Salt by Tramaine L. Brathwaite for the Fade to Black Reading Festival. She served as stage manager for the show Fly in the Windshield by S. Denise O’Neal, “The Mother Project: A Collaboration to Honor Black Mothers and their Children” by: Elizabeth Keel, and Jelisa Jay Robinson. She has also served on crew for various Fade to Black festivals. Carrae continues her education and professional development with Esurient Arts, where her work has been showcased. Carrae aspires to pursue more acting, directing, and writing opportunities. “Thank you to all who have pushed and believed in me, even when I didn’t believe in myself. A special thank you to the executive artistic director of Esurient Arts for constantly providing the tools, and for continuously pushing me along my journey. Thank you to my family and friends for their constant support as I pursue my endeavors.”

Artistic Consultant

TEACAKE FERGUSON

Known as a Renaissance woman, Teacake is an all around entertainer, artist, and creative. She began her musical theater career at the tender age of 14 starring in shows such as One Mo' Time, Ain't Misbehavin', Dreamgirls, Cinderella as Cinderella, and The Wiz just to name of few.

Teacake has also made a name for herself as a producer, director, choreographer, playwright, costume designer and performance coach. Her directoral credits include Queen To Be, Book and Lyrics by Teacake, The Greatest GREATEST Show, which she wrote an original book featuring the music of the film, The Greatest Showman, Barabbas The Bus Johnson written by Crystal Rae, Rooted, written by Teacake, and many more.

In 2008, she began performing on several cruise lines such as Royal Caribbean International, Princess Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Lines, Holland America Cruises, Azamara Club Cruises, Celebrity Cruises, and Cunard. Her headliner show "From Aretha to Whitney: A Tribute to the Divas" garnered much success on the high seas. She has performed her own show in over 70 countries.

Teacake is the proud owner of Anchor and Arts LLC and Nell Franc Designs (Event and Interior Design company). She has also released four studio albums and two live albums, All available on various online music distributors.

Although her resume is quite lengthy, her greatest roles to date are Wife to her husband, Mark, and Mother to her 2 year old son, River.
